OBC Code Finder

Last updated: August 2026

Overview

OBC Code Finder is an offline reference application for the Ontario Building Code. We designed it to collect as little data as possible. This policy explains what (if anything) the app does with your information.

Data we do NOT collect

The app does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:-Personal information (name, email, phone number, location)
-Device identifiers or advertising IDs
-Usage analytics or telemetry
-Browsing or search history
-Any data for advertising or marketing purposes
The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

Data you may choose to send (optional)

The app includes an optional "Report an issue" feature. If you choose to use it, the app sends the following to our issue-tracking system (a Cloudflare Worker that files a GitHub issue):-The title and description you type
-Any labels you select
This is sent only when you explicitly tap "Submit" — it is never sent automatically. The content is used solely to fix bugs and improve the app. Please do not include personal information in a report unless you are comfortable with it being visible to the developer.

Data storage

All building-code content is stored locally on your device. The app does not upload or sync your bookmarks, search history, or any other data to any server.

Internet access

The app requests internet access only to support the optional issue-reporting feature. If you never use that feature, the app makes no network requests.

Third-party services

The issue-reporting feature transmits your report to a Cloudflare Worker, which forwards it to GitHub. These services process the report solely to deliver it to the developer. No other third parties receive your data.

Children's privacy

The app is a professional reference tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and post the revised version.
